This brand new, adults-only beachfront Resort, located on Rarotonga's white sand Aroa Beach, is set on the islands south-west coast, to guarantee all day sun and fantastic sunsets. The hotel is a sister property to the Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa, just next door, and guest enjoy some shared facilities at both resorts.
Featuring 48 luxury beachfront suites, Sanctuary Rarotonga caters for couples looking for seclusion and romance on a gorgeous white sand beach. Each spacious air conditioned Suite is decorated with local and natural materials and local artwork, and a thatched roof, giving a very organic, island feel. The Suite has a super-King sized bed, ceiling fan, satelite TV, telephone, mini-fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, in-room safe, handmade lighting, italian tile en-suite bathroom with black pearl shell accents, and a lovely private, shady verandah, with gorgeous Lagoon views
In the gardens, but close to its own little beach, there is a beautiful and relaxing pool with a fun swim-up bar. You can enjoy a cocktail in the water or poolside, where you can relax and take in the view and the sun.
The Sanctuary Rarotonga's restaurant features "casual fine dining". In a tropical setting under an island style gazebo, you can enjoy spectacular views across the lagoon with your meals. With the sand between your toes you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. The evening menu changes nightly to ensure you have the opportunity to enjoy the widest range of international and local cuisine, the freshest island ingredients along with some of our fine Australian & New Zealand wines. Lunch and dinner can also be enjoyed in our Poolside Pergola
The Resort offers lots of complimentary activities to keep you busy, and jeep safaris, walking, hiking, horse and sea tours and trips can be arranged for an additional charge. There are plenty of beachfront and comfy beach chairs to allow you to relax. Guests here can also use all the facilities of the neighbouring The Rarotongan Beach Resort.

Currently, there are very limited International flight connections to and from the Cook islands. All international flights operate into Rarotonga and there are no international flights into Aitutaki.
The main carrier is Air New Zealand, with
direct air service provided six days a week from and to
Auckland (currently there is no flight on a Friday from Rarotonga),
and once a week to and from Los Angeles, currently departing
Rarotonga on a Saturday arriving LA on the Sunday. The return
flight leaves LA on Sunday and arrives Rarotonga on Monday
morning.
Pacific Blue, part of the Virgin group, operate
limited service from Auckland
Air Tahiti operate twice weekly flights from
Papeete, Tahiti to Rarotonga, currently on a Saturday and
Tuesday. However, on some weeks they only operate one
flight!
All domestic flights within the Cook islands are
operate by Air Rarotonga. Their main route is
Rarotonga to Aitutaki, on which they operate up to five daily
services, except Sunday, when only one is operated (up till the end
of 2009 no flights were permitted to operate domestically on a
Sunday).
They also provide frequent services to the other main islands in
the Southern group. However, air access to the Northern group
is currently very restricted, to the point where it is almost
impossible for tourists to book flights, due to the limited seats
that are offered. Quite a lot of the time, the
seats are reserved for Government officials and the local residence
of the Northern islands.
