Located on the quarter-mile cresecent-shaped white sands of Poipu Beach, which is rarely ever crowded, the Sheraton Kauai occupies one of the finest spots on Kauai. The hotel is located 16 miles from Lihue Airport and within easy reach of Koloa Old Town, Spouting Horn and Waimea Canyon.
Recently remodelled in 2006, the 394 rooms and 8 suites are located in low-rise buildings, no taller than the coconut trees, and are situated in the Garden Wing, Ocean Wing or the Beach Wing. Room catagories are Garden View, Garden Deluxe, Garden Suite, Partial Ocean View, Deluxe Ocean Front, Ocean Luxury, Ocean Front Suite, Deluxe Ocean Front Suite and the Presidential Suite. All rooms offer an ensuite bathroom, complimentary toiletries, premium bedding, air conditioning, telephone, hairdryer, remote control flat-screen TV with cable channels, movie library, clock radio, a mini refrigerator, tea & coffee making facilities, iron & ironing board, in-room safe and private lanai or patio with garden or ocean views. Suites also offer extra space and have a separate bedroom and comfortable living room.
The Resort has two freshwater swimming pools, the Beach Pool and the Garden Pool, an outdoor spa, children's pool, full and half day children's activity programme, day and night tennis, fitness centre, nightly Hawaiian entertainment, library with board games and computors, room service, a variety of speciality shops and much more. Four championship golf courses are no further than an hour away.
There are a number of dining options to choose from at the Sheraton Kauai. Dine on International cuisine on the edge of the Pacific at the beachside Shells restaurant, offering a varied breakfast buffet and juicy steaks, fresh seafood and seasonal island vegetables at dinner, experience fine Japanese cuisine at Naniwa Restaurant & Sushi Bar, laze over cocktails and appetisers at The Point cocktail lounge or sample grills, light snacks and salads at the Oasis Bar & Grille. You can experience a beachfront Luau barbecue every Friday night, with an extensive buffet offering fresh fish, various meats, salads and island-inspired desserts plus many Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino and Thai inspired dishes. If you fancy trying something outside the Resort, there are many good restaurants nearby.
Whatever you choose to do with your days, you will appreciate why even the sun does not like to set on the Sheraton Kauai.
NB. Please note the Sheraton Kauai will be undergoing renovations to some public areas, starting on 12th January 2011, for approximately 6 months. Areas being refurbished include the main lobby, dining areas and porte cochere in the Ocean Wing and the bathrooms in the Garden Wing rooms. The Oceanfront Pool and Oasis Bar and Grill will be expanded, the Shells and Point restaurants will be combined to create a new dining venue, and they are creating a brand new courtyard lounge and oceanfront cafe with fabulous Pacific views. The signature Restaurant, Rumfire, is being totally refurbished and is scheduled to re-open in early September 2011
They anticipate all work to be completed during weekdays from 9am to 6pm, and during this period will offer all guests staying with them a complimentary breakfast buffet for each day of their stay. In addition, guests are invited to enjoy daily entertainment and events, including their signature Mai Tai hour, 4 times a week.
If guests already have breakfast included, then the resort will offer a $50 dining credit for every 3 days of their stay, that can be used in any of the Resorts' restaurants. Breakfast Buffet will be served in the Poipu Ballroom, in the Garden Wing, and lunches and dinner will be served in the Lawai Room. Naniwa Japanese Restaurant is also available.
Whilst the Oceanfront Pool is being renovated, guests may still use the garden Pool, and there is still the stunning Poipu Beach, with the Resort offering the usual beach equipment rentals, intruction and beach activities.
The Sheraton Kauai Resort will do their utmost to minimise disruption to guests, but if you have any queries, please contact us directly.
UPDATE 24 MAR 2011 - We have been advised that the bathroom upgrades in the Garden Wing are now complete and all rooms are available for guests. Ocean Wing renovations are still ongoing.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer flights from Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Continental: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester via Newark, New York, to Honolulu. They also have non-stop flights from Houston to Honolulu
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
US Airways: Currently, no US Airways flights from the UK make a same day connection to their flights to the Hawaiian islands, so an overnight stay will be required. They operate non-stop flights from Phoenix to Maui , Honolulu, (Oahu), Kauai and Hawaii Big Island
.
Hawaiian Airlines: They
provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West
to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San
Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in
connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They
also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti,
currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air: Offer a
very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via
Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently four domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Aloha Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Go and Kahalau. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters
between the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this
time, there are no seaplanes available for chartering in the
Hawaiian chain, which is a little disappointing for flying boat
fans!
