The Relais de la Maroto Pension Hotel is situated in the mountainous heart of the island of Tahiti, surrounded by lush, tropical rain forest, rushing rivers, stunning waterfalls and high mountain cliffs. The hotel offers stunning views, and is as far away from the hustle and bustle of Papeete. as London is from Tahiti itself!
The Relais de La Maroto Hotel is situated in on the edge of the Papeno'o Valley and was originally built to accommodate the workers building Tahiti's hydro-electric dam. The beautiful Papeno'o Valley is a popular tourist adventure excursion, with its great hiking trails, many stunning waterfalls, and several archaeological sites. At one time in Tahiti's ancient past, the valley was the most populated part of the island of Tahiti.
The Pension-Hotel is reached from Papeete by a one and a half our drive through the stunning countryside, or a 15 minute scenic helicopter transfer. It has recently been completely renovated and refurbished, and now offers an eco-resort style of accommodations that are not luxury but are comfortable, spacious and fresh.
The 10 ground floor Standard Rooms are approximately 20 sqm and are the most basic of all the rooms available, but they still offer an ensuite bathroom, 2 twin beds, easy chairs and a door that open to a small terrace.
The 10 Deluxe Rooms are located on the upper floors and offer 30 sqm of space, 1 King bed, an ensuite bathroom, a small sofa and sliding doors to a private terrace with great rainforest views.
There are 3 detached Bungalows, which offer 30 sqm of space, 1 King bed, ensuite bathroom, armchair and double sliding doors to a private balcony with stunning views over the valley and the surrounding mountain cliffs.
The 2 Suites in the main building are very spacious, at 60sqm, and offer 1 king bed, ensuite bathroom, jacuzzi spa, small sitting area with 3-piece suiteand stunning views over the valley and the surrounding mountain cliffs.
The La Maroto Restaurant offers French Pacific cuisine with an excellent wine list. There is also an unusual underground wine cave and bar, with an extensive range of wines and drinks. Half board and full board meal plans are available. However, this is the only dining option in the area, so it is a good idea to take some snacks and drinks up the valley with you, unless you have an unlimited budget!
The Relais de la Maroto is an ideal base for exploring the spectacular Papeno'o Valley, with guided and non guided hikes available, and many of the waterfalls, rivers, rainforest trails and archaeological sites being just a short walk away from the hotel.

Child Policy
Children ages 3 to 11 years inclusive are charged £20 per night when occupying a room with two paying adults
Airport Transfers
Standard Round trip transfers are from Papeete airport or from any of the major hotels in Papeete transfers are £49 per person, adult or child.
Private transfers are double the cost at £98 per person, one way transfers are charged at 50% of these costs.
The hotel is 45 kms from Papeete and the journey by 4 wheel drive vehical which is mostly over unpaved roads takes approximately 90 minutes.
A helicopter transfer is available for £1069 one-way which will accommodate 5 persons plus the luggage which takes 15-20 minutes and apart from offering a much quicker transit time, it provides a wounderful scenic sightseeing experiance.

Although there are frequent international flights into Tahiti,
French Polynesia's international gateway to the World, there are
limited airports of embarkation to choose from, with currently only
Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland and Tokyo offering one plane air
service to Tahiti.
The international airline for French Polynesia. is Air
Tahiti Nui who operate daily flights from Paris and Los
Angeles to Tahiti and on many days there are additional fights
to/from Los Angeles. In addition they operate two weekly flights
to/from Auckland and they serve Tokyo twice a week. Their service
to New York has been temporarily suspended.
Air France has in the past offered service from
Paris, but currently is not offering it's own flights on the route
it code shares on the Air Tahiti Nui services.
Air New Zealand operates twice a week from/to
Auckland with it's own aircraft, it also operates a codeshare
arrangements with Air Tahiti Nui providing seats on their two
weekly fights from Tahiti to Auckland.
Air Cali, operate a weekly flight between Noumea
and Tahiti.
Hawaiian Airlines, provide a weekly service
between Honolulu and Tahiti, currently operating on a
Saturday/Sunday schedule.
LANChile, operate a flight once a week from
Santiago to Tahiti via Easter Island, providing the availability to
do a side trip from Tahiti to Easter island.
Air Tahiti, is French Polynesia's domestic
airline operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all
the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. With the
main Society islands receiving a number of flights a day, and
between Tahiti and Moorea there are departures hourly between 6am
and 6.45pm Monday to Thursday with later evening flights over the
weekends.
The less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a
night stop in Tahiti may be required when connecting between these
islands.
Air Tahiti is providing the only air service
between Tahiti and the Cook islands, which they currently do twice
a week on a Tuesday and Saturday.
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters, but they all tend to be based in Tahiti so
arranging charters between the outer islands can be expensive as
the aircraft will originate and terminate in Tahiti, also at this
time there are no seaplanes operating in French Polynesia, which is
a little disappointing!
